
The Shikoyama-Kamiyama dojo is an affiliate dojo of the Kamiyama Ninpo Happo Bikenjutsu dojo headquartered in Dallas, Texas under the guidance of kudan (9th degree black-belt) and Shihan (master teacher) Ralph Severe, a direct personal student of Soke Hatsumi of the Bujinkan Dojo. Through the Kamiyama dojo, the student experiences training in six ryuha (schools) of Ninjutsu -- Gyokko ryu, Kukishinden ryu, Togakure ryu, Takagiyoshin ryu, Koto ryu, and Shinden Fudo ryu.
Students training in the Shikoyama-Kamiyama dojo will train at many unarmed and weaponry methods of old Japan. These methods include various combat strategies, leaping, walking, hiding, running, swimming, evading, striking, grappling, and other special skills. Weaponry training includes skills development in the use of various conventional and unconventional weapons including various lengths of sticks, bladed weapons (such as knives, swords, kama, and naginata), flexible weapons (such as ropes, whips, chains, nunchaku, belts, and even shoestrings and handkerchiefs), and throwing and projectile weapons (includng shuriken or throwing stars, and firearms). Students will experience a traditional training atmosphere as well as contemporary applications pertinent to today's modern defense strategies. In addition to regular classes and regimented training, students will have opportunities to be involved in activities including hiking, backpacking, shooting, and rock climbing.
